Cara Mama,
Thanks for letting me play with your hair while I nurse and while I try to go to sleep. And thanks for singing to me to settle me down at night. I've just been so fidgety, but the singing and playing with your hair is really helping me settle down and actually fall asleep. I love you Mama, even if I don't yet say mama. Or I love you, for that matter.
Oh, and quit trying to make me give you kisses! I'm totally done with that game!

Truly, Alexis and Pumpkin are behavior twins. Alexis cannot go to sleep if she doesn't get a chance to twirl hair. It's required.
Yeah, my Pumpkin likes to play with (really, "pull" would be a more accurate term) my hair while she falls asleep, too. I wonder if this is an evolutionary throwback to a time when babies had to hold on to their mothers? Whatever the reason, I have in desperation let her pull my hair for 15 minutes to get her down for a nap. Just another one of the glamorous things about parenting that you never see on TV, I suppose.
I wonder if my lil' Monkey were a girl he would twirl my hair while he ate instead of just plain yanking it? Things that make you go hmmmm....
Sometimes when he's very sleepy and feeding, I get the pleasure of gentle hair play but mostly it's pulling. You gals are lucky!
