Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

I'm having a little trouble keeping up with everything. It's just that work has gotten so busy... and we still are catching up around the house from house guests and the party... and the baby was going through a sleep regression... and I was really into my book and had to finish it last night... and my carpel tunnel has been really bad lately... and I'm trying to make time for Londo... and Easter is this weekend... and there is just TOO MUCH TO DO!!!

And I'm determined not to stress out about blogging, because it's such a help to me that I won't make it into a hindrance. So instead of worrying about posting every day or worrying about coming up with interesting topics and well-written posts, I'm going to go a little easier on myself. I'm also going to try to start posting at night instead of waiting until the day to post and try to read all the wonderful blogs I love at night, but we'll see how that goes.

There are a bunch of thoughts I have that I need to get out. I will work on them tonight. Until then, why not enjoy today's great post on Ask Moxie about feeling lonely and isolated as a stay-at-home-mom and a working mom.

I agree, enjoy the blog don't stress about it! Though it can be hard to do. I put something on my todo (the mental one) list even if it is something personal and when I don't do it it just weighs me down....
ACK! Easter HAS to be early this year!

my blog has been down and since I can't write in it I have been having all these great ideas! That's life I guess.

So don't worry about the not having a perfectly formed post, just enjoy the whole process... (that sounds way to zen, must be the post exercisers endorphins and the sleeping baby)

I'm right there with ya! I've been so busy lately at home and at work. The state of my reader is pretty bad and I hate it when things pile up.

Not only does my content suffer but I feel like I'm a bad blog citizen as well because my commenting falls off.

Here, here to the enjoyment of the blogging. If it means you only post every other night or even once a week or once a month, as mothers I'm sure we'll all understand.

I'm reading a great book right now that's a perfect tie in to this. It's called The Balanced Mom -- Raising Your Kids without Losing Yourself by Bria Simpson. So far, it's fantastic and while some of the advice is obvious, having someone point it out makes you really think about it instead of shushing it aside. The way the book is set up is even great for busy moms! You're supposed to read the first three chapters to set a foundation of sorts, then you can pick and choose which chapters to read next (the chapter titles are really intuitive as to what the chapter is about).

I know you're an avid reader, and not to ADD to your list of things to do, but you might want to put this one into the ol' Amazon cart if you haven't already read it.

Take it easy and if we don't hear from you until after Easter, we'll understand! Or at least as the book points out, those who are truly friends of yours will understand.

I've found blogging to be a destresser at the end of the day. Hopefully you will too. Take some time and get some rest.

Posting at the end of the day seems to be the only thing that works for me. It's my only must-do task of the night (other than caring for the Toddler, of course), and I usually look forward to it. I read what I can throughout the day, but I've learned to be pretty good about ignoring my Reader for a few days at a time. Blogging should not get in the way of life. Hopefully.

Have fun! When you take a break it's even funner to come back and post something you were thinking about for a long time. Let blogging be your friend! BWO!
