Question of the Week - TV Mom/Dad

Let's get right to it... This week's question of the week is:

Which TV Mom or Dad are you?

I'd like to think I'm Clair Huxtable of The Cosby Show, but I don't have enough kids or experience to claim that yet. She is my role model, though, and has been since I watched the show every Thursday night growing up. She was a thoughtful and caring mom, and a successful working woman who was married to a very involved and loving husband. Hmmm... Maybe I am like Clair!

I think I might also be like Elyse Keaton from Family Ties, because of my hippy tendencies... But let's face it. Right now, with this lack of sleep, I'm feeling most like Lois on Malcolm in the Middle. hehe.

How about you?

(Can't think of one? Try checking out this site for moms and this one for dads.)

If we still lived in Chicago and had to deal with my husband's family non-stop I would definitely be Deborah from Everybody Loves Raymond. We both know this though, which is why we have a strict rule where we will live anywhere in the US that is at least 100 miles from Chicago. Too bad though, because we do really like the town.

I've never seen or don't remember a lot of those shows, but I think I'm a mix of Angela Bower, Marge Simpson and Vivian Banks.

most days I feel like Lois from Malcom in the Middle...love my family but overworked (at work and home) and sleep-deprived from trying to get more done at home and am just crabby mommy instead. :) Maybe a little Peg Bundy thrown in there for good measure. :)

I'd hope to be like Jill Taylor from Home Improvement. Strong, funny and able to deal with the little men (and the big one too!) in her life with humor.

However, somedays I feel like my mothering skills are on par with Eddy from Ab Fab (minus the drug/drinking part). Okay, maybe not THAT bad. :)

This question makes me realize that besides the Cosby Show, I can't think of any show that I watched that had a family as the main focus. X-Files? Nope. Star Trek: TNG? Nope. Invisible Man? Nope. Whether I like it or not, my current situation makes me June Cleaver to my husband's Ward, but I am not frickin' happy about it and I ain't wearin' pearls and a dress while making dinner. But (to cement my sci-fi geekiness) I guess I would like to be like Aeryn Sun from Farscape - have baby, shoot pulse pistol and take names, all while wearing black leather. Oh...to be a bad ass.

I yearn to be like Loreli Gilmore. Honestly. My mom is one of my best friends... and I want to be funny and vivacious and not care what other people think.

but you know, NOT the single mom portion of it... or the pregnant at 16.

Great, put me on the spot. I'm thinking Malcolm in the Middle is what I most likely am. But Claire Huxtable would be who I'd want to be.
