Don't Even Know My Own Shoe Size

That was really weird.

I went to the mall to pick up my lunch and get a pair of shoes. I saw these shoes (in red) MONTHS ago, but didn't take the time to try them on or buy them. I've been longing for dreaming of thinking about them ever since. Finally, I decided to go ahead and get them, especially since they are on a mega-sale ($20!!!).

So I went to the mall, ordered some food, hurried to the shoe store and found the shoes still on the shelf. When the salesman asked me what size, I told him the wrong size. I have no idea why. In fact, I didn't even realize it until I was trying them on and thought that they were very tight! Well of course they are tight, it's a size too small, a size I haven't been in over 15 years!

I think this is all part of something I like to call Post Baby Stress Disorder(tm) (PBSD). We did have a rough night last night, which included 1.5 hours of baby-wakefulness--a well-known contributor to PBSD. Memory loss is one of the main symptoms of PBSD, so it's no surprise that I'm having trouble remembering things.

But my own shoe size? Just weird.

(Luckily, they did have it in a half size up, although not in my actual size. The half-size too small actually fits pretty good. I totally bought them!)

Groovy shoes. Sales here begin on Saturday. Can't wait to go and spend some of my husband's hard earned cash. Isn't it ridiculous that I don't consider it MY money ( I don't work a lot and so don't have any of my own). Have to start changing my way of seeing OUR money as...geeez.. I provide an enormous service here as mother of two.

Heh - I can't remember anything, either. Though I couldn't remember anything BEFORE the baby, for that matter.

very cute shoes!

and the PBSD gets worse as you add more kids! :D Although now that Cooper is nearly 12 months, I'm getting a little bit of brain functionality back...just in time for teething!

Wow. I can't remember the last time I wore honest to goodness high heels.... I need to get out more.

Cute shoes!

The worst symptom of PBSD for me is an extreme inability to remember all I must carry with me from a given point A to point B.

There's nothing like having to take the shuttle BACK to work from the train station because with all the dragging of the breast pump, the iPod, the portable computer, and my purse, I forgot my cell phone on my desk.

And that was just a normal trip home from work. It all gets so much more complicated when we're headed somewhere with the baby.

So, shoe size? Not surprising. Could certainly happen to me.

It gets really bad a few kids into it. I'd forget the kids if they would stop whining for two seconds.

I could so do that, I'm capable of forgetting my own name I think.
