Expectations

So... I'm pregnant!

I'll be 12 weeks this Friday, which puts me into the second trimester in my book. I figured what's two more days, so I'm announcing today.

The baby is due June 19, 2009. The Pumpkin will be 2 years and 3 months, which is the kind of spacing we were hoping for. We are very excited to be expecting, as I'm sure you all know.

We were extremely fortunate in that it took us only ONE treatment cycle to get pregnant. Although there were two eggs that were ready, we are having a singleton. As great as twins are, we are happy that we are having only one because one will be easier.

I didn't share earlier because even though I've written about my miscarriage, it did take me like two years to be able to talk about it. So I didn't want to have to deal with it even on my own blog. But it's been so hard to not talk about the pregnancy, the nauseua that I still have, the tiredness that is more than just the Pumpkin STILL not sleeping well, the crankiness, etc. etc. etc. Now that you hear that list, I'll bet you all are glad I haven't talked about it! Although there is also the excitement, the positive ultrasounds, the Baby Center email saying it's the size of a fig (which is how big exactly?), and the initial planning for childcare changes, switching bedrooms for the Pumpkin and all the other preparations.

So that's my big news. I'm sure I'll keep talking about it through the pregnancy.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
How wonderful for you!

P.S.-a fig is probably about the size of Pumpkin's fist. Sasha loves to eat them and their about that size to him.

WAHOO!!!!! Awesome news!!! You sneaky Pete! You didn't write a thing about treatment so I just figured you hadn't started yet. I am so happy things were easier this time and really, really hoping that nausea goes away soon and the wonderful second trimester energy rush kicks in!

(Maggie opted to stop sleeping during my first tri with Will, too. Perhaps it's just their opinion of impending siblinghood :-) ).

Congrats! Hope you have smooth sailing.

And June is a nice time to have a baby (IME)--lots of park time for Pumpkin. Hope you're not shy about flashing the other mommies ;-)

Congrats! I hope Pumpkin starts sleeping soon so that you can have a few months of sleep before the new baby arrives. Or maybe its better to never not to be reminded how nice sleep is before it is once again denied to you?

Congrats, CaraMama and Londo!

I'm with you about one. Every time I see someone with twins I think "Wow you've got your hands full!"

Hopefully the nauseua will go away soon now that you're in the second trimester.

Cool! Great news, congrats. I'm glad it was so much easier for you this time.

There are alot of pregnant announcements around these parts. Back in Oct I had a couple friends say they are due end of April/beginning of May...and now the June due dates are starting to come out. Soon will be the July due dates ;-) Yay babies!

Happy baby growing to you!
