Question of the Week - What Would You Write About?

Well, it's been a pretty crazy busy time for me. For the majority of the previous three weeks, I have been the solo parent to the two kids, the caretaker of the dog, cat and house (and sometimes the garden, which I didn't kill off thankyouverymuch!), and a worker full time (mostly) out of the house at a really busy time in my project. On top of it all, I'm still trying to be there for my husband, as well as my family and my friends. Add in the sicknesses that seem to be plaguing my house, and, well, I've had little time for writing posts or even reading and commenting on my favorite blogs.

I don't think I'm alone in my business or inability to write about everything that I want to write about. So this week's Question of the Week is:

What have you been planning to or want to write about if you had time (and a blog, for those of you who don't)?

Here are some things I hope to post on soon, but if I don't at least I'm mentioning it here:
- I am feeling pretty amazing about how I'm juggling everything and that I really can be the solo parent to two kids when I need to be.
- My daughter started at the Montessori school, and so far it seems to be going well.
- My son is doing some really fun and amazing things, not to mention he and the things he does are so cute it melts my heart.
- My daughter must have gone through yet another developmental spurt, because she is even more capable and picking up on ideas and concepts that she wouldn't have understood just a couple of months earlier.
- My son keeps getting sick while teething, and I've got some thoughts about why.
- My kids are playing together more and more, and it's awesome.
- When I'm with my husband, we are having amazing sex. Yeah, I said it. And I might say more about it later!
- I took the two kids on the 7 hour car ride to my inlaws house BY MYSELF! (Londo was already down there.) Without a DVD player! And... it went really well!
- Sometimes, my daughter goes to bed without Mommy or Daddy in the room. When the incentive is greater than her need for one of us.
- One of the best decisions Londo and I made for the Pumpkin was to move her out of her old pre-school and put her for the summer in the pre-school where the Pookie is going to daycare. I debated and was unsure, but now that I can look back, I know it was a really great move.
-The hardest part for me (and I think many others) about being a sometimes single parent is finding the co-parenting rhythm again.

I've got more, but I'll leave it there for now. And now I'm going to visit some of my favorite people to try and start participating in the blogging community again (outside of Twitter). I've missed you guys!

How about you guys? Anything major going on? What have you been planning to write but just haven't gotten to? Who's wishing they had a blog just so they could talk about something in their lives? Do you have a long list of things like me or just one or two things you'd like to get off your chest?

I have a list of post topics about seventeen miles longs, but I can only seem to conjure it up when I'm nowhere near a computer. True story.

Travel. Annie's learning to crawl and pull up. Aging (yes that's what I said. Lots of things happening lately that are reminders that I'm AGING). The landscaping saga and the tree that still lays across my backyard. When I should return to work. How my nightweaning is going. How my anti-thumb-sucking crusade is going (though that just started). Crafts I've done with Rosie. My TMJ Disorder.

Is that enough? I've got more... :) And I'm not even working right now! Oooh there's another topic: what's going to happen to my blogging when I start working again?

Our journey thus far with SPD. How I'm starting to realize that teachers/doctors/therapists who don't have children of their own often don't get it. All the funny and cute things my 11 month old is doing. The funny ass stuff that comes out of the 3 yr olds mouth. How my dad might come visit. How sometimes I feel like fighting for respect and fairness amongst my neighbors just isn't worth it and I should retreat into my happy bubble and stick my head in the sand. How i thought I was being so smart by locking my dog in the master br during CSA pickup only to find two huge piles of runny dog poo on my carpet. Put upcoming "vacation."

The list goes on and on...

I've been trying to find the time to write a post about some of my favorite time/sanity saving products for awhile. And I STILL want to write a post about vaccination- why I vaccinate my kids (and think other people should, too), and why I think this has become an issue amongst upper middle class parents.

Then there is the usual list of cute stories, funny things Pumpkin has said, and angst about how I've ended up doing a job that makes me cranky.

I sometimes wish I had a blog to get a few things off my chest - but I have a feeling it would just be one more thing that I would start and then fail to maintain. If I had one, at the moment I would be writing about:

- how awesome DS has been the last few weeks as he approaches his third birthday. Hopefully we are coming into a period of equilibrium. Three weeks ago he told me he didn't want to wear diapers at night, and that was it - no more diapers. No accidents either. His transition to Montessori preschool has been awesome. He's been polite, sweet, reasonable, helpful, cuddly. etc. etc. And, suddenly, he's sleeping in to 7:30 every morning.

- how equally awesome DH has been - I can't even get into all the ways he is making my life so much easier right now. He travels a lot for work, but he more than makes up for it when he's home. Everyone thinks he's a total hardass alpha male businessman (his day job) but he's a total teddy bear at home. A few nights ago he spent two hours SEWING DS a garment bag for preschool (to the school's specifications), and labelling all DS's clothes and other items with his name.

- how I am getting ready to quit my job after DD arrives. It's been a dream of mine for a long time to start my own law firm, and I plan to make that a reality next spring.

- how poor DD hasn't even arrived yet and she's already a neglected second child. I haven't even begun to prepare for her arrival, tho I am interviewing a doula on Monday night (any one have any good interview questions? I didn't use a doula with my first).
